Will come back to Pakistan in a few weeks: Asif Zardari

DUBAI: Former President of Pakistan and current PPP  co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, said in a recent interview that he would be returning to Pakistan in a few weeks.
While recording an interview for Hamid Mir's Capital Talk show for Geo News, Asif Zardari stated that he would return to Pakistan soon.
"Not in exile, I will return to Pakistan in a couple of weeks," he said.
Replying to a query about Karachi's garbage issue, Zardari said that Karachiites would soon hear good news about the issue. He stated that a contract had been finalised with a Chinese company and work would soon begin in the city.
When asked to comment on why PTI chairman Imran Khan frequently praises PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan but subjects Zardari to criticism, the former president said that Mr. Khan wanted to become Prime Minister of Pakistan.
On the question of why he didn't go to the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the Panama Papers case, Zardari said that the parliament was where democracy evolved.
"What is the Supreme Court forms a commission and it is unable to come up with any result. Then what will be the use of that?" he said. "Parliament is where one should be held accountable. It is the parliament which evolves and becomes stronger with the passage of time," he said.
Zardari had left Pakistan for Dubai last year, a couple of days after he had made a hard-hitting speech against political rivals and, what seemed to many, against the military leadership.
Ever since then, Bhutto scion and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has led the party from the front and conducted public rallies in Pakistan.
Zardari's interview with Hamid Mir on Capital Talk will air on Geo News on Monday at 08:05pm in which he will discuss Panama Papers controversy and the recent political developments in the country.
